Konichiwawa! Here's another uber short short update! Heh, see see my new gadget which I bought? Told you I had money.. lol. To those who claims I'm poor for OpShopping. I'm simply using my cash cash wisely :) Anyways, School's started for about 2 weeks now... Everything's going smoothly? :) Studying every single day is essential. It's quite awesome though, I'm currently doing 3 subjects at school and 1 subject at Boxhill tafe from 5.30-9.30pm. My current subjects are... English, Maths Further, Visual Communication and Design and Studio Arts! :) Heaps of time for art production.
Now that I've bought myself a new laptop, I guess I'll be updating more regularly? But mostly posts like these... :) An update on my everyday happenings.. I'll keep you posted! :) There's enough on my plate to keep my occupied.. as well as designing the year 12 jumper.

Funny Funny quotes from Family:

Darren Lalchand: You're a hero Sherry, you save money!

QiQi: I don't think their fireants, I think they're just burnt... ;)

Darren: Don't worry I dont have AIDS! *coughs*

Sherry: OH NO, I've got AIDS too...

And Melbourne is the place I call home. (:
It's been two days since I got home, and wow... books books and more books are all piling up, my brain's about to explode even before school reopens. Wow, I love it!
Guess with the slacking awesome foursome last couple of days I've had at Hobart, the urge to achieve some productivity kept steering within. I'm extremely exhausted but here's an update anyway! Not the best post I've posted but life in Year 12 is unfortunately undeniably hectic busy busy. Hence, my post updates will be slower than the usuals...
While I'm away here's an awesome quote, I made up! (atleast I'd like to think that way)
Magnify your goals, enlarging your vision
lots of love, sherry

Motion Picture

Heh, I really enjoyed my trip in Tasmania and so was the Hong Kong/Malaysia trip. It's definately been an awesome headstart to 2010. Living independently has undoubtedly given me some form of independence in the past couple of weeks and in the future. I can't help to smile smile when scrolling up to those two motion pictures. It has been enjoyable in Tasmania, both Launceston and Hobart. In Launceston, living alone could be rather lonely at times, but it really helped me stay focused. Magnifying your goals enlarges your vision. It'll be a tough year ahead for the year 12s of 2010, study hard and harder? Focus on the destination and you'll get there. In Hobart however,, was thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable! Sarah and Roger brought me around town, and visited some fascinating places from Mount Wellington? to Kingston and Bruny island? Yes they've all been enjoyable, definately made some awesome friends over the past couple of weeks . I've loved my trip, what can I say? :)
Thanks to those who's made this a memorable one~

Hobart Trip 2

Here's my few days vacation at Hobart. Life's been utterly awesome, no day-to-day planning, no recordings on my daily expenses, and no late nights at University. It's relaxation all the way. :) I know I ought to be studying in preparing for Year 12. But at this stage I really cbb. It's a five day off for me, no studying, no revision, just potato couching and some sight-seeing ;) ohlalala~

End of Launnie and Off to Hobart!

Hello Everyone! It's been quite awhile since I blogged. Yes Yes, hectic lifestyle down here in Hobart. Life's been amazing living alone, although I'm missing my family heaps.. Every second of the day, the life of no parenting guidance, but the love of friends and the support of others. It's been amazing. Over the past couple of days, I've been caught up with working on my final project. As an exhibition was held on Friday, and this summerschool course takes up 12.5% of my Uni course. Which ultimately means that I've completed one uni subject at the age of 17. (turning 18). Stayed up at Uni till 11.30 every night.. Working my hardest hoping for no regrets in the long run- my current motto. "Live with no regrets" I've painted a total of 140 pieces of glass and sewing them into a skirt :) Very ambitious, unfortunately due to the time contraints, I've only managed to complete a working progress of my final piece. (: Good enough for me, I've tried. Snapshots of my last couple of days at UTAS, Launceston.

Goodbye Launnie :(

Friends I've made along the way.. Jess and Kelsea

Came across this studio on our way bumming at Launnie, and ohmygeebees.. This Artist Leoni Duff works as an Artist as her main career, most of the paintings she paints would sell for the price of 4,000 but painting an artwork is time consuming ofcourse. One painting takes up approximately 5 weeks to complete, and that would be a month wage? For a piece of painting. They're perfecto nonetheless.

Welcome to the studio

Softpastel

Oil Painting

An artist at work (:
Later, browsed around some retail shops, and took some snapshots here and there, they're beautiful sculptures done in metal, glass, clay. My perception towards sculptures and glasswares has altered through the experience of UTAS.

& this is the exhibition held on Friday which I was talking about earlier. Artworks, sculptures, and furnitures completed in this exhibition was done in 6 days. A major achievement by the students from courses which varied from Comtemporary Painting to Furniture Assault. It is fascinating as summerschool is developing talents from all various form of Art. (:

Comtemporary Painting Practices

Landscape paintings:

Furniture Design

Ceramics

Aboriginal Philosophy

Metal Casting

Australian Art and Design

Furniture Assault

Furniture Design

Yep Yep, those are a couple of finished projects by the students, fascinating aye? Through glass studies, I've enabled to identify glass which are costly and the inexpensive, the methods in molding a glass, the elements contained in glass, and the skill in approaching glass with different method, such as slumping, on-glazing, molding, and the temperature in which the kiln has to be set in. (: Launceston, enabled me to not only be independent, but to learn from the talented within a creative environment, It's difficult to explain, but people which I've came across are architectures, to artist, and also bachelor of education soon-to-be teachers. Hence, this journey has been undoubtedly valueble (: and definately worth taking another shot in.. Nextyear, I'll apply for metal casting for shizzle. (:

Final Project has begun!

Today we had to work on our final projects which will be exhibited on Friday, four days to finish one project? That reminds me of Project Runway. Anyway, Yes.. here's some snapshots of my progression in Studio Glass, and some other experimentations of Glassworks. Went back home at 10.00pm as I was finishing up some onglazing. Summerschool life has been awesome & tiring, I love the fact that Uni closes at 10.00pm, which ultimately means.. I get to spend more time on Art! (: Being at Uni beats life bumming at home; Everyone has to keep themselves busy or we'll go.. downhill.. (: That's just my belief.
Preview of my Final Project :)

New Gadget

Behold, the very new "old" gadget which I've bought this morning! The long forgotten Nokia with no built-in camera! I guess with Ipods, Iphones, Blackberry as the hot topic on the front cover magazine of every mobile retail stores, noone would ever take a second look at this piece of poopy.
Why would I even bother? Well it was just yesterday... When I was in the middle of pulling down my shorts, (and my panties) bending towards the toilet bowl... when.. *bloop* My phone slipped right out of my hand and into the toilet bowl...
R.I.P MobilePhone
& That leads me to my story today....
Shopping for mobile phones wasn't tough at all. First off, all I needed was a phone that functioned well. Had weekly alarm to wake me up in the morning, and most of all.. a mobile that was within my budget. I've worked two jobs over the past three years in Melbourne. http://www.michels.com.au/ and http://www.wendys.com.au/. My first job at Michel's Pattiserie was cash-in-hand every fortnightly.. Back then, I would gather up all my money into a teddybank in my room. Whenever Op Shop urge came along, I'd dig in my teddybank for some cash. I'd digg digg digg to go shopping in the city, from the money which I've earnt.. I've managed to buy everything that I needed, my very first 8megapixel camera, a pair of boxing gloves, Ninewest handbag for my mum, and to be the person incharge of paying for my parents dinner. That was my pride and glory. Not long after, I decided to leave Michels and concerntrated on my studies.. Within that period of time, I've earnt a total of Aud1,500 from Michels. Heaps of hardwork, and early mornings was put into this casual job. But paying with my personal earnings, rather than pleading money from my parents... was peaceful, satisfying, and definately nice for a change. Unfortunately, money doesn't grow on trees. Money which I've earnt from Michel's had soon dissappeared, in exchange with heaps of OpShop treasures, My weekly spending, and phonebills.
Life is tough without money, but that is reality.
Soon after in 2009, I've regained the passion and applied for more jobs.. Near and Far, High and Low, I'd walk into shopping malls, with a smile on my face applying at every corner of each shopping mall. rejection was inevitable. But Life goes on (:
As I leave you readers here today, I'd just like to say...
Spending money that you've earnt is a sense of pride,
Saving money that you've earnt is a kind of beauty.
The long forgotten Nokia, No camera.
Handy Features (:
Alarm clock set beforehand with specific days picked out.
Cute Monkey theme ^^
The best part of this all, is this phone, my camera, and mp3 and the clothes that I currently have on, all my holiday expanses.. are all through the hardwork which one's gain through working experience.

Design Centre Tasmania

Explored around town this afternoon after finishing up with some glass work at Uni, there was the beautiful City Park, and further down the street was Design Centre Tasmania (: Bought myself a brand new mobile phone worth Aud59 seeing as I accidently slipped my nokia phone into the toilet bowl as I was about to pull down my pants to piss yesterday :X How could that possibly happen? Don't know how did it happen either. Long story short, I had to purchase a brand new phone today for safety reasons, and yes yes another week at Launceston, and I'll be heading to Hobart for more sightseeing (:

Studio Glass Studies Day 3

Found my picture on the tasmania news website! :) They've got my name spelt correctly too!

SherryNgclickclick!

Students experimental piece (:
I painted an image of a peacock, unfortunately didn't turn out as expected ):

experiment with fabric in between the glass. :) Fascinationg outcome
After layers of plaster, water and silica? scrape of the clay model.
scraping off more leftover clays (:
Pour water to measure the exact glass capacity

fill the plaster up with glass (:
Tadaa! As you can see, I've chosen to use foam glass (window) instead of television glass. Reason being different glass creates a different effect towards the sculpture. Television glass gives the sculpture a clear crystal effect, where as foam glass on the other hand, is murky, greenish, and slightly lighter in comparison with glass.
