Ola! This photo was taken back in December (: Thought it might be a good "au natural" photo of me given that I have been rather busy and life has not been worth capturing on camera. Constantly applying for jobs, because the job that I worked at did not inform me of any work shifts; and the job that I went to today, I quit. I would just be very underpaid. Apart from the hassle of job applications, I am quite happy with the my new Compaq Presario which I bought for Aud390. It works perfectly and it works with Adobe softwares! I was a tad worried before and regretted being cheap with notebooks/laptops.. But instead of spending over Aud750 on a multifunctional laptop, this Aud390 laptop is capable of meeting my needs.. which is enough for me!
Another update? lol. My best friend and I have liked each other for quite sometime now, since two years ago to be exact; he's liked me for three years but despite having feelings for one another, we've kept it casual and simple all throughout high school.. Just this morning him and I have decided to make it "official" on Facebook. Everyone claims that a relationship is not official until it's on Facebook? Well, it's not going to work out without the approval of the parents. (:

Shopping Spree!
Good day everyone! How's everyone's last couple of days doing? (: Mine has been spectacular today... Spent money for once, explored the rest of Brunswick, visited more exciting galleries, and went "shopping" Sherry's style ;) Spent a total of Aud73.60 today... Now that is a world record... Never have I once spent more than Aud10 in a day.. and today I've surprised myself too... Ohmygosh* Aud5.60 was spent on the transportation ticket, Aud 35 was spent on a USED 320gb External Hard drive, Aud15 was spent on a special pillow, and 18 Aud was spent on A Charles and Keith skirt as well as a deniim dress... Pretty good buy.... The twist is... They were either purchased in Opshops or previously booked on Gumtree... All I had to do was travel all the way to Bentleigh then back to Bourke Street to pick up ze GOODIES. (: Saving money whilst Spending feels awesome. I would have spent just over 150 if I bought them all first hand.. but bargain buys are ze Best! (:

Three Things In A Box
Three Things in a Box is a topic for each child to share some of the things that are very special to them, also for everyone to get to know each other better. While Qi Qi is still deciding on her three favourite things, one of which she's selected is... A BOOK! wow... I'd probably choose a barbie doll if I was in her shoes, but BOOK is definately a surprising choice. So... the book that she's chosen to present on.. is... surprisingly... umm.. a book on bugs and insects? -"Incredible Mini Beast" lollerskate. Again, I'd probably pick my favourite disney colouring book if I was her age.. but.. Mini Beasts would be very very interesting to be presenting on! :) Props for Qi Qi for being innovative!
Ok. Qi Qi and I went on a quest on the world wide web in search for some... creepy bugs and insects, for a deeper more thorough understanding of each bug. :) Also to help Qi Qi gain more knowledge on creepy crawling insects in general :) Our quest on bug hunting was highly fascinating indeed ;)
dragonfly, did you know there's insects called damselflies too?
Spikey poisoneous caterpillars
& the furry ones ;)
BEAUTIFUL orchid mantis :)
Unlike typical greeen coloured praying mantis, orchid mantis camouflages into the colours of the orchids... is it just me? Or are orchid mantis simply beautiful? They so are...
I love the colours of the orchid mantis. It's fascinating too how one could gain from spending quality time with her family. Inspiration do come from anywhere and everywhere! More creepy crawling mini beasts images? I don't know. Wouldn't wanna bombard this blog with too many images.. but... honestly.. I never took notice of how beautiful they are!
Beautiful close-up of a damselfly :)

Disneymania!
Seeing as this year is about to end, I have specially dedicated this blogpost to.. all disneylovers! :) Most likely just me. *winks* I have had my fair share of disney movies through out my childhood years.. Of Cinderella, Lion King, to Hercules, and Mulan. Disney has changed the lives of many, especially this seventeen year old.
Even at the age of seventeen, I would preach about teachings I've taken in from Disney. All the years of watching the transformation of Disney movies. Disney princesses I've once so loved are now.. Disney Classics. High School Musical, and the Hannah Montana movie are the current Disney craves. :) All Disney movies are absolute joyous to watch, with simple yet highly meaningful messages.
Thus, here's a massive "tick" in achieving what I've set out to achieve in Year 2009. Treasure Hunting for Disney Books has been a definite success, and now... These books will pass on to my children, my grandchildren, and my great-grand children! :)
The seaweed is always greener
In somebody else's lake
You dream about going up there
But that is a big mistake
Just look at the world around you
Right here on the ocean floor
Such wonderful things surround you
What more is you lookin' for?

I'd make a good snake.
Note to readers: If the dance moves made u feel uncomfortable, please understand this is not actual "proper" dancing. It's not even choreographed.
I would choreograph a dance, but that would just defeat the whole purpose of this post. Some of the moves are slightly awkward, only because it's my way of stress-relief, rather than "potential, wow your so great at dancing" I won't classify myself as a dancer, though lol the url is http://www.dancingcanvas.blogspot.com/.
It all began in year 11 camp, When "hand dance" was introduced to us the year 11s, it started off with screaming, screaming out, screaming OUT LOUD! Stomping the ground, boxing the air, and rotating your hands in any motion, circular, dramatic, anything that suits you. And I loved it! I've always loved expressing myself, releasing my inner "GRR" energy..
I bet this happens to every single one of us. No doubt, I have encountered countless of troubled souls.. They've somehow sinked into the state of depression. It all begins with bottling up your emotions, and instead of chucking it into the sea. They've subconsciously chucked it from their head to their heart.
VCE Art- is no doubt the toughest subject I've come across... I'm doing well in the practical aspects of art, but theory...? I'm coping. surviving. on the edge of unsatisfactory.
Grrr. Such a put off.. It makes me wanna cry. But but but.. "hand dance" has helped me heaps! So here is my "oh-so-what-the-heck-dance" which has done wonders for me!

Inspired by Walt Disney
Unlike any animated film these days, disney classic films hold a strong sense of warmth, beauty, yet adventurous all together!
From a journey along the magical carpet, to songs sung by a sly meerkat and his faithful warthog friend, nonetheless a mermaid longing for her human prince...
Bringing hope, love and wonderful memories from young... These songs are utterly beautiful walking through my childhood life as a kid, remembering those days when daddy used to bring my sister and I to the movies...
Tarzan it was, a film which was similar to George of the Jungle (lol)..yet heaps better... more emotional, captivating, inspiring in a sense...
As we look at disney today, Hannah Montana HighSchoolMusical Enchanted Beverlyhills chihuahua, don't get me wrong.. Disney's doing it's best relating their films to children, however what can be helped if children today look up to idols such as HannahMontana? ZacEfron&Gabriella? Chihuahuas? Again, they too have a message to convey, a role to portray.. However compared to classic disney films,it's a pity to those in this generation... missing out on movies which once inspired children like me.
p.s I've enabled my commentbox :)

Guess I'll have to too...

nerve-racking I would say, just like any other public speaking I've experienced.. yet still praying by heart.
"Pull me together Lord, pull me together"
& as I started, pin-drop silence across the room*
You planned to harm me. But God planned it for good
Genesis 50:20
This verse really stood out for me, amongst other amazing verses that I couldve illustrated on.
Before my migration to Australia, Life was indeed a pretty rough patch, and as I migrated, having the "a new country, new beginning, new life.." mindset..
I somewhat chose to foresee all that happened back in Malaysia, and focusing on the future..
Yet out of the blue, amongst my cousins and I, one who brought up the topic of how she knows about my past, more specificly what I've done*
shameful & embarrassed I burst into tears, as if the image of me "starting' a new life suddenly exploded into a thousand fragments, shattered by the truth, the truth that came out from my cousin's mouth..
My past felt as if It's been dugged out, realizing the scar was still where it originally was.
hurt by the truth, ideal image of my life crushed.
Till one day, attending church with Jaclyn Victor as our special guest.. Me and my cousins, eagerly showed up that night.looking forward to Jaclyn victor's performance. But surprisingly, as the service continued.. The question popped out.
"Who today wants to accept christ in their lives"
powerful statement, but a coward like me.. couldn't possibly raise up my hand.
Yet I did..
It's hard to walk through life frowning when God has given you all the joy in life
yet reading at the comments posted; Not everyone believes in God, not everyone believes in this so-called "Jesus" dude. Though believe it or not, this video is living proof that we're all created by God. From the very beginning of the world till today..
For those who doesn't recognise God, I can somehow relate to that feeling, only because I've only accepted christ 2 years ago.
Living in a christian environment, christian school, christian friends, christian surroundings, it's beneficial having someone you can relate to when it comes to christianity. & because we tend to see, hear, talk about him all day long, the spirit of familarity start to rise up, forgetting that He is the son of God.
"As we get familiar with Jesus, the Kingdom of God diminished"
How about those who doesn't believe in God? (:
Everything's still the way it is, the hill won't tumble, the sky won't fall.. I won't persuade anyone into something they're not comfortable in.
a quote from House episode
"If you talk to God, you're religious; If God talks to you, your psychotic"
No doubt everyone has questioned themselves every so often
"Why is my relationship with God, Sooo fragile?"
"How do I know God listens to my prayers?"
"How do I know if there's even a GOD!??!"
Again, an atheist response would certainly be
"Ah..silly one. that's because there's No God?"
In the midst of those times of need, when I needed God the most, still slightly swifting away..
The worst thing that could've happen, Happened.
Miss Westbrook :" Sherry, is it alright to do your devotion next week"
replied "Yep no probs *massive grin*"
Deep down questioning"What... the... heck is devotion?"
Trying all sorts of ways getting out of it, due to past shameful public speaking experiences
flashbacks from the previous years..
forgot song lyrics whilst singing on stage, laughed through out the oral presentation, refused to sing on stage while I was already ONSTAGE.
haven't really had the opportunity to overcome "it" (until today)
Having 1 week's grace of preperation, it was my time..
to share my story.
Getting the most out of the word "devotion" & perhaps illustrating it more later on.. I had to ask someone. ANYONE. just someone wise enough to define the word "devotion"
then came Darren on msn..
"uhm.. Darren, I'm doing my devotion tomorrow"
"haha, Yes I heard Ms westbrook asking you this morning"
"One question, What does devotion mean?"
"Uhm.. it's a story with true meaning, ministering to people, with a christian value"
(repeated word for word!) :) boy, im good*
"Sharing true meaning, with christian values"
"True meaning with christian values...."
then it hit me! What's better than sharing my own story?
without much planning, but heaps of praying..
Praying that God could pull me together, as I speak through & for him tomorrow (meaning today) let not my nerves get the best of me..
