1 tbs olive oil
1 large brown onion, halved, chopped
5 large carrots, peeled and chopped
1 1/2 cups shicken stock
1/3 thin cream
1/4 milk
Salt & freshly grounded black pepper
Had all my ingredients ready!
Ok... as you can see.. It's my first time chopping the onion without any supervision!
who cares about presentation, as all as it's edible.
carrots-done (:
As soon as all my ingredients were chopped up, I was so looking forward to c-o-o-k-i-n-g!
(mind my wrong use of punctuation, the word cook/cooking does not appear in my blog very often)
Method
1.Heat the oil in medium saucepan over high heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, for 3-4 minutes or until soft.Add carrots and stock and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, for 12-15 minutes or until tender. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool.
There were countless of questions running through my mind now.
What's stock?
I know what a pan is, But a saucepan?
Google images helped alot on this one. I was short of not one, but two ingredients! Chicken Stock (Yes, I know what it is now) and Thin Cream!
Left the Onion, half fried, half golden brown, and bus'd straight to Glen Waverley Safeway. After getting the ingredients I needed, grr.. & with Salvation Army only a couple shops away, felt as if temptation was leading me to "check out" some of their goodies @ Salvos.
It's 50% off orange tags!!
Cheaper than cheap?
& all of the money goes to the people in need?\
It's a win-win situation!
Why Not?
Purchased a bracelett worth Aud1.90! My day is complete (:
After 2 hours of browsing through Salvos, finally decided on 1 bracelett, and missing two buses back home. I have yet had my breakfast, and the onions were still half cooked back home.
On my way rushing to the bus-stop, I was again distracted by....
"Marry me?"
My answer is.. no.
(Bahahah, I have the attention span of a goldfish according to YiFu)
My Onions!
The Friggin Chicken Stock.
Getting back on track. (:
2. Place carrot mixture, cream and milk into the jug of the blender and blend until smooth. Return to the saucepan and sitr over medium heat until hot. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
3. Ready to serve.
Carrot soup, turned out GOOD! (:
How about the dishes I hear you ask, (more like me wondering "Where's mummy when you need her?") lol.
Mummy, if you ever see this. Your gonna be SOOoooo Proud of me!
